Seamless rain gutters in Houston: installation and replacement
Whether the house never had gutters or the old ones are past saving, we run seamless aluminum on site to the exact length of each wall, size it for Houston's storms, and put the water where it belongs — away from your slab.
Why seamless
A seamless gutter is made on your driveway from a single coil of aluminum, so each run is one piece from corner to corner. Sectional gutters from a home-improvement store have a seam every 10 feet, and every seam is a future leak. In Houston, where a gutter sees heavy rain 40 or 50 times a year, seamless is the only sensible choice for a home you plan to keep. Sizing for Houston
This is where most gutter installs go wrong here. The standard 5-inch K-style gutter with 2x3 downspouts was designed for average rainfall. Houston isn't average. We calculate roof area per downspout and use:
- 5-inch gutters with 3x4 downspouts on most single-story homes. The bigger downspout alone adds about 60% capacity and costs little extra.
- 6-inch gutters with 3x4 downspouts on two-story homes, steep roofs, and any run collecting a large roof area. Six-inch carries roughly 40% more water than five.
- Extra downspouts on long runs. A single downspout on a 60-foot run is the most common reason for overflow we see.

Materials and colors
Aluminum in .032 gauge (heavier than the .027 most crews use) in more than 25 baked-on colors to match your trim. Copper and galvanized steel are available on request and are quoted separately. Hidden hangers screwed into the rafter tails every 24 inches, not spikes. What replacement includes
- Removing and hauling away the old gutters and downspouts
- Inspecting and replacing rotted fascia before anything new goes up (quoted per foot; it's usually a few boards, not the whole house)

- Downspout extensions or splash blocks so water lands at least four feet from the slab
- A water test before we leave
Gutter replacement in Houston is the most common install we do — 1980s and 90s sectional systems that leak at every seam — and the tear-off is included in the per-foot price.
What it costs
Seamless aluminum installed runs about $9–$15 per linear foot in the Houston area. A single-story home with 160 feet of gutter and four downspouts is typically $1,600–$2,400; a two-story home with 220 feet and six downspouts, $2,600–$3,800. Homes that never had gutters
A surprising number of Houston homes, especially 1970s–90s builds in Katy, Cypress and Pearland, were built with no gutters at all. If you've got a trench worn into the mulch under the roofline, mud splashed up the brick, or a foundation company telling you to control drainage, that's the fix. First-time installation is priced the same as replacement, minus the tear-off.
Partial installs make sense too. Plenty of homes only need rain gutters over the front entry, the garage door and the side where the AC unit sits. We'll do the runs that solve the problem rather than the whole house if that's what you want.
Installation day
The crew arrives with the coil and the machine on the truck. Old gutters come down first, fascia gets checked and any rotten boards replaced, then each run is measured and formed on site to the exact wall length. Corners are sealed with a polyurethane sealant, downspouts strapped every 8 feet, extensions set, and we run a hose through every run before we pack up. How long does gutter installation take?
Most homes are done in one day. We measure and quote on the first visit, the coil and color are ordered, and the crew runs the gutters on site on install day. Large two-story homes with a lot of corners occasionally run into a second morning; we'll tell you in advance.
Should I get 5-inch or 6-inch gutters in Houston?
Six-inch on two-story homes, steep roofs or large roof areas; five-inch with 3x4 downspouts on most single-story homes. We calculate it from your roof rather than guessing — undersizing is the most common mistake here, and it's the reason so many Houston gutters overflow in a storm.
Do new gutters come with a warranty?
The aluminum carries a manufacturer's finish warranty of 20 years or more against peeling and fading. Our workmanship — leaks, pitch, hangers — is covered for the first year, and we come back if anything needs adjusting after the first few big storms.
Can you install gutters on a house with no fascia board?
Yes. Some older Houston homes have exposed rafter tails, especially 1950s ranches in Oak Forest and Garden Oaks. We use roof-strap hangers or install a fascia board first, depending on the roof, and price both options on the estimate.
